WINTER TRAINING SESSIONS WITH TIK MAYNARD

Friday Groundwork

This series will consist of unmounted ground work sessions in groups of 3 to 5.  The objective of the series is to develop skills and techniques from the ground that translate into a deeper connection between horse and rider under saddle.

Saturday Grid Work

Tik's popular grid sessions begin with a mounted flat session that progresses into an evolving grid course.  Riders will be in groups of 3 to 5, based on experience.  There is a competitive element, with points awarded to participants based on their ability to execute.  At the end of the sixth session, a prize will be awarded to whoever has amassed the most points.  Gymnastics are a great way to develop a horse and rider's confence.

Sunday Courses

Each week, Tik will work riders through a different course.  The emphasis will be on building the rider's confidence and knowledge, with a view to preparing the rider and horse for local New Jersey shows.  Riders will be placed in groups of 3 to 5, based on experience.

2011 YEAR IN REVIEW

2011 was an phenomenal year for Bow Brickhill Stables, in which we accomplished some ambitious goals.  Our 2011 Hunter/Jumper Masters Clinic Series featured clinics by an amazing roster of internationally reknown trainers - Peter Leone, Mark Leone, Jimmy Torano and Frank Madden.  We were also privileged to host a clinic by United States Equestrian Team (Dressage) member, Heather Blitz, just days before she picked up an individual silver medal and team gold at the Pan-American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

We were also proud to be involved in the inaugural Central New Jersey Ride For The Cure, which was particularly special as it marked the opening of the new pavillion at Alexandria Township Park and was the first public horse event to take place at the newly constructed 10 mile equestrian trail at the Shick Preserve in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County which Bow Brickhill Stables owner, John Alexis, was instrumental in creating.  The $50K raised was an amazing achievement that all participants (both riders and volunteers) can truly be proud of.

In addition to this, we hosted three ESDCTA schooling dressage, combined test and clear round jumping shows, and our students and trainers competed successfully at a number of local and regional shows.  Most importantly, however, we developed a wonderful clientele of like-minded high-spirited and warm-hearted horse lovers.  We thank you all for your continued support and enthusiasm.
