My mother rode up until the day before I was born. I have spent my entire life with horses. Through the years I have come to realize, appreciate, and appreciate that starting young horses and developing the basics takes a different skill set than riding riding the finished product. There may be challenge and excitement in developing each filly or colt, but more than that there is a system and a language. It takes patience to put it all together.
Two of the biggest influences I've had in colt starting are the teachings of Bruce Logan and Jonathan Field, interestingly they both spent time learning from Pat Parelli, early in their careers.
It is irrelevant what your colts future job is, dressage, jumper, hunter, racing, reining etc., starting them off correctly sets them up to do the best they can with their natural abilities.
I look forward to helping your horse start his or her career on the ground and then under saddle."
